Tufted Flycatcher — Texas

It’s taken me a long time to write about this but a really great bird was found this past week on Padre Island, Texas. It was an ABA code 5 tufted flycatcher. This is a species that I am quite partial to and as such, I was quite interested in this record. It was found on Tuesday (June 22nd) at the Padre National Seashore headquaters by Phil Ziegler. This is the 7th record for the ABA area. News of the bird did not come out until Thursday and at that point, sadly, the bird was not refound.
