I spent last weekend at Magee Marsh Ohio. Going oyet here as I’m sure you know was the Biggest Week in American Birding. Let me say this. IT WAS AMAZING!!! I offer my sincere compliments to everyone who helped make it for it was truly spectacular. Forall who haven’t gone it is a must see. My dad and I pulled in and the first thing we heard where the songs of warblers coming from every direction. We stopped for ten minutes at the park itself then we had to head to a lecture by Kenn Kaufman which I was quite looking forward to. Kenn Kaufman, it turned out is as good as speaking as he is a writing field guides. It was a very good lectur and I defiantly recommendOtis lectures to everyone. The next day we woke up bright and early and set out to the world famous Magee Marsh Boardwalk. I expected a small amountif people. I was very wrong. There had to be at least 1000 people on the boardwalk! The birds didn’t seem to care though and I got nice views of a Eastern Schreech owl, a prothonotary warbler, a black-throated green warbler and many others. It was amazing. That evening before leaving, my dad and I went on a shorebird walk near Ottowa National Wildlife Refuge. It was great and there wereAmani great shorebirds. However, one of the best parts was the people. They were all very nice and helpful and it was great talking to them. I definitely recommend the Biggest Week to any serious birder.
Keep Calm and Go Birding
